The 2010 edition of the Bucky Awards, CBC Radio 3’s annual salute to the best Canadian music of the year, is here…

Just cause I like to add my 2 cents…here are my picks for the nominations categories….

Most Canadian Song: ‘Hockey: The Greatest Game in the Land’ – Hawksely Workman

Best Live Act: The Sadies

Best New Artist: Michou

Best Lyrics: Royal Wood ‘On Top Of Your Love’ (“Oh the fatigue of lust, When dizzying and hushed, In matters of the flesh, Incapable of rest”)

Best Vocals: Justin Nozuka

Sexiest Artist: Vince Vaccaro

Best Reason to Learn French: Annie Blachard

Best New Band Name: Chromeo

Best Song: Chromeo ‘Don’t Turn The Lights On’

Best Video: Hollerado ‘Americanarama’

Lifetime Achievement: Ron Sexsmith

Then tune on December 8th as CBC Radio 3 will honour the best in Canadian Independent music from the last year as chosen by the fans of Canadian music. As it should be.

    Two words: Justin Rutledge. Just saw him live again last week. Songwriting, vocals, instrumentals, he's got it all.
